The very first Quo Vadis Conference titled “Quo Vadis? Polish-Canadian Youth Leadership Challenge” was held during May 1-3, 2009 in Ottawa, Canada. This event gathered 117 delegates to Canada’s capital city, where they were able to hone in on their leadership skills and build a network of like-minded youth activists, senior leaders, and prominent Polish-Canadians. The conference was proven a success and was deemed a crucial event for today’s young Polonia to engage in, in order to foster a sense of heritage, unity, and leadership within our Polish communities.
The tradition continued to evolve and cover all of North America in 2010 with “Quo Vadis II: Building Bridges, Building Leaders” held in Windsor, Ontario. The conference attracted delegates from Canada, the US, Europe, as well as Speaker of the Polish Senate, His Excellency Bogdan Borusewicz, who delivered the keynote speech. Then in 2011, the conference moved to Toronto, cementing the QV movement.
Since these pivitol years, Quo Vadis continued to take place in Canada with conferences being held in Calgary, Alberta (2012), Montréal, Québec (2013), Vancouver, British Columbia (2014), and Burlington, Ontario (2017).
In 2012, the movement branched out to the United States, with the first ever US-edition of Quo Vadis held in Chicago, Illinois, followed by New Britain, Connecticut (2013). The first Australian edition was held in Sydney (2013), followed by Melbourne (2014). The last edition of Quo Vadis was the 10 year anniversary edition “Quo Vadis X” held in Toronto in 2019.
